Case summary
On May 15, 2025, EPA issued a Clean Water Act (CWA) administrative order (Order) to Crowell Road Chatham of Brewster, MA for failure to submit discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) pursuant to their CWA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. Crowell Road Chatham was authorized to discharge under the Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP); they failed to submit required discharge monitoring reports and at least one Annual Report required by their permits. The Order requires the permittee to submit all outstanding DMRs and Annual Reports and continue to report as required by their permit. EPA is responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act in Massachusetts. EPA notified the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection of this action.
