On March 19, 2025, EPA issued a Clean Water Act (CWA) administrative order (Order) to the Baldwin Pond Water Treatment facility of Wayland, Massachusetts for failure to submit discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) pursuant to their CWA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. The Baldwin Pond Water Treatment facility was authorized to discharge under the Potable Water Treatment General Permit (PWTGP). The Order requires the permittee to submit all outstanding DMRs and continue to report as required by their permit. EPA is responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act in Massachusetts. EPA notified the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection of these actions.
