Case summary
On April 18, 2022, EPA Region 1 and EaglePicher Technologies, LLC (EaglePicher) settled a RCRA administrative enforcement case for alleged violations of federal and federally authorized state hazardous waste regulations at EaglePicher's battery manufacturing facility in East Greenwich, RI. EaglePicher's violations included the accumulation of hazardous waste in a storage tank for greater than 90 days, in contravention of waste storage conditions for generators. Other violations included the failure to segregate containers of incompatible wastes and failure to properly label or date hazardous waste containers. EaglePicher certified that the facility has corrected its RCRA violations and has established new RCRA compliance procedures. EaglePicher will also pay a $108,810 settlement penalty.
