Case summary

On May 4, 2022, EPA entered into an expedited settlement agreement (Agreement) with Martelli Construction Co., Inc. that addressed violations of the Clean Water Act's General Permit for Discharges from Construction Activities (CGP) at the Greenwood II site in Holden, Massachusetts. An EPA inspection at the Greenwood II site determined that the operator had failed to stabilize portions of the site and failed to maintain perimeter controls as required by the CGP. Pursuant to the Agreement, Martelli Construction Co., Inc. will pay a $10,500 penalty. EPA implements the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System program in Massachusetts.
