On May 3, 2022, the Region entered into an Expedited Settlement Agreement with Hilton Family Oil, Inc. (Hilton Oil) located in Lawrence, Massachusetts resolving violations of Section 311(b)(3) of the Clean Water Act. On January 24, 2022, a home heating oil delivery truck owned by the company overturned in North Andover, Massachusetts and spilled approximately 600 gallons of heating oil, some of which reached Mosquito Brook. The company responded promptly to the spill and took over cleanup responsibilities. Approximately 450 gallons of oil was recovered.
