Case summary

February 6, 2024 - EPA and Professional Contract Sterilization, Inc. June 22, 2022 - EPA filed an administrative complaint seeking penalties from Professional Contract Sterilization, Inc. of Taunton, Massachusetts to address the Company's failure to respond to Clean Air Act reporting requirements, including a testing requirement. PCS operates a commercial sterilization facility that is subject to Subpart O and uses ten tons or more of ethylene oxide in sterilization or fumigation operations. The information that PCS has failed to submit is necessary to assess the facility's compliance status. EPA is not aware of potential environmental justice impacts from the facility.
