Case summary

On January 24, 2020, the Region issued an Administrative Compliance Order requiring the town of Acushnet Mass. to adopt the ordinances or regulatory authorities required by the 2003 General Permits for Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) in Massachusetts by June 30, 2020. These ordinances relate to authorities necessary to fully implement the Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination, Construction/Erosion and Sediment Control, and Post-Construction Stormwater Management programs under the MS4 Permit. The Order also required the town to have all stormwater infrastructure mapping requirements in place by June 30, 2020. The Region coordinated closely with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on this matter.
