Case summary

On February 14, 2020, EPA issued an administrative order on consent (AOC) to Anheuser-Busch, LLC (AB), operator of a Merrimack, New Hampshire brewery that uses anhydrous ammonia in its refrigeration system. EPA's inspection of the ammonia refrigeration system found violations of Risk Management Plan requirements of the Clean Air Act Section 112(r). Following the inspection, AB addressed all areas of concern identified by EPA except for ensuring that all ammonia piping is properly labeled. Under the AOC, the company will correct this deficiency.
