Case summary
On October 10, 2019, Region 1 entered into an Administrative Settlement Agreement and Order on Consent for Geophysical Investigations and Site Security relating to the Keddy Mill Superfund Site located in South Windham, Maine. Respondent ITT, LLC is successor to Grinnell Corporation, an operator at the Site at the time of disposal of hazardous substances. The Settlement Agreement requires implementation of a drainage study, geotechnical survey, and access and site security controls. These studies will be used to support the future performance of a Non-Time Critical Removal Action decision, issued on September 28, 2018, for the demolition of a contaminated building at the Site. The Respondent will also pay 100% of EPA's future response costs as defined in the Settlement Agreement.
