On December 11, 2019, Region 1 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order settling claims for civil penalties against Terravecchia Building & Restoration, Inc. (Terrevechia) for violations of the requirements of the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule, promulgated pursuant to Section 402(c)(3) of TSCA. Terravecchia is a contractor engaged in small scale home restoration, remodeling and repair services in the southeastern New Hampshire and southern Maine areas. EPA alleged three violations arising out of a renovation project in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The company has returned to compliance and agreed to pay a penalty of $1,964 to resolve the violations. On September 30, 2019, Region 1 filed an administrative civil complaint for penalties against ACM Group, Inc. for violating regulations related to lead-based paint requirements of the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. The complaint alleges that Respondent performed an RRP-regulated renovation at a single property in New Hampshire but failed to obtain initial firm certification from EPA prior to performing the renovation, failed to adequately cover the ground with plastic sheeting and failed to keep records to document compliance with RRP Rule.
