Case summary
On September 13, 2018, Region 1 filed a TSCA Expedited Settlement Agreement against Ricardo Duarte resolving a violation of the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule that occurred during renovations in Concord, New Hampshire. Mr. Duarte, who failed to obtain his initial RRP firm certification, agreed to pay a penalty of $200 and to come into compliance with the RRP Rule. In addition, Mr. Duarte signed a statement indicating that he will no longer perform renovation, repair and painting work. The State of New Hampshire has not taken delegation of the RRP Rule and is aware of this action. These actions will help to protect children from the harmful effects of lead-based paint.
