Case summary

On September 25, 2018, Region 1 issued a complaint to V & G Home Improvements, Inc., a service provider for Lowe's Home Centers, LLC, for violations of Sections 15 and 409 of TSCA and the Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule, 40 C.F.R. Part 745, Subpart E. Specifically, V & G Home Improvements failed to maintain all records necessary to demonstrate compliance with the Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule for three years following the completion of three renovation projects at homes built before 1978 in Maine. The intent of the RRP Rule is to help prevent exposure to lead-based paint hazards. Enforcement of the RRP Rule helps prevent children from being exposed to lead paint. The RRP Rule has not been delegated to the state of Maine. However, the state has been notified of, and supports, this action. 11/2/18 Respondent paid the penalty in full after receiving the Complaint. A final Order has been issued. (There was no consent agreement because respondent paid penalty in full upon receipt of complaint.)
