Case summary
On May 24, 2018, Region 1 filed two expedited settlement agreements resolving violations of TSCA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule against Hachi Group, LLC and Rainbow Painters. The violations pertained to renovations in East Hartford, CT and Mechanic Falls, ME, respectively. Hachi Group performed renovations on target housing without maintaining a copy of its firm certification. Rainbow Painters renovator certification had expired at the time it performed work on the target housing. Each of the Respondents has agreed to pay a penalty of $200 and to come into compliance with the RRP Rule. The states of Connecticut and Maine are not delegated authority to implement the RRP Rule. These actions will help to protect children from the harmful effects of lead-based paint.
