Case summary

On July 19, 2018, Region 1 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) both initiating and resolving an administrative action against Ellison Surface Technologies, Inc. (Ellison) and Ellison Holdings, LLC (Ellison Holdings) for violations of RCRA at a facility located in North Clarendon, Vermont. Ellison, which is headquartered in Mason, Ohio, is the operator of the facility that manufactures coatings for the aerospace industry and for industrial parts. Ellison Holdings is the owner of the facility. Based on an EPA inspection, Ellison violated nine requirements RCRA and the Vermont hazardous waste regulations. Pursuant to the CAFO, Respondents will pay a penalty of $77,093 and will maintain compliance with applicable regulations. This action will help to prevent releases of hazardous waste to the environment. The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation is aware of and concurs with this action.
