Case summary

On June 29, 2018, Region 1 entered into an Administrative Order on Consent (Order) with Tweave, LLC of Norton, MA to resolve CWA violations. The facility, an integrated textile mill that produces woven stretch materials, had ceased operations but still discharged wastewater from its treatment lagoons on occasion in violation of the limits in its NPDES permit. The facility recently decided to relocate and is taking steps to permanently close the wastewater lagoon from its wastewater treatment plant and terminate its NPDES permit. The Order imposes strict conditions on the company to ensure the closure is done in way that is protective of the environment and in accordance with state requirements. Region 1 worked in close coordination with MassDEP in this matter.
