On January 3, 2017, Region 1 filed a consent agreement and final order (CAFO) resolving Clean Water Act violations against the J.F. White Contracting Co. and Massachusetts Department of Transportation for stormwater discharges into the Deerfield River not in compliance with the federal Construction General Permit.
