EPA v. OUTREACH REALTY
Default Order With Penalty
Case summary
On September 29, 2016, Region 1 filed a RRP Microbusiness Settlement Agreement both initiating and resolving violations of the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule alleged against Outreach Realty Servicing, LLC, located in New Haven, Connecticut. This case resulted from a tip that ongoing renovations at a vacant residential building were not being performed in accordance with the RRP Rule. The tip alleged that the RRP lead safe work practices were not being followed and that a child living next door who already had an elevated blood lead level, could have been exposed to additional lead hazards. According to the terms of the settlement, Outreach Realty will pay a $1,384 penalty. This settlement has been approved by EPA-Headquarters under a pilot program that allows for reduced penalties for RRP Rule noncompliance by microbusinesses (annual sales under $300,000).
