Case summary
The Lynn Water & Sewer Commission operates the City of Lynn combined wastewater collection system and separate storm sewer system. The Commission has failed to eliminate its combined sewer overflows, and has failed to adequately operate and maintain the wastewater collection and separate sewer systems. This EPA action will require the LWSC to implement its revised CSO long-term control plan, eliminate sanitary sewer overflows, and implement a program to identify and eliminate illicit connections to the storm sewer system. Lynn will pay $125,000 penalty and implement approximately $105 million of sewer separation and CSO work over the next 15 years. 4/14/18 Court order modifying the Third Modified Consent Decree. Amends the compliance schedule of the CD.
