EPA v. CINTAS - CUMBERLAND
Final Order With Penalty
Case summary
This is one of three cases that EPA has settled with Cintas Corporation for CAA violations at three industrial laundry facilities in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine. All three facilities launder shop towels, which typically contain low concentrations of VOC-laden solvents and contaminants as compared to print towels. The settlements require Cintas to implement various best management practices at all three facilities in order to minimize VOC emissions from shop towel laundering operations. Each facility must also apply for a state air permit and pay a $50,000 settlement fine.
