EPA v. NEW HAMPSHIRE GLASS (SB)
Final Order With Penalty
Case summary
On January 21, 2014, Region 1 filed a CAFO resolving alleged violations of the TSCA RRP Rule against NH Plate Glass Corporation (NH Glass) of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Complaint was based on violations that occurred during a window renovation project the company was performing at a former school in Kittery, Maine that was being converted into a community center. The community center was intended to be the location of day care programs, and was, thus, a child-occupied facility subject to the RRP Rule. The complaint alleged that NH Glass had failed to assign a certified renovator to the work site, to cover ground with plastic sheeting, and to contain waste from renovation activities. Pursuant to the CAFO, NH Glass will pay a penalty of $10,890 for these violations.
