Case summary

On September 5, 2013, EPA Region 1 issued a combined complaint, consent agreement and final order (“SuperCAFO”) that simultaneously commenced and settled EPA’s enforcement action against Yankee Candle, Inc. for alleged violation of Section 7 of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. § 136e. The SuperCAFO alleges that Yankee Candle failed to file timely an annual pesticide production report for calendar year 2012 in connection with its registered facility in Whately, Massachusetts. Yankee Candle agreed to pay a civil penalty of $4,455 to resolve the violation.
