This is a pre-negotiated settlement for a Stormwater-MS4 action not an ESA On June 15, 2012, Region 1 filed two Expedited Settlement Agreements under which the Town of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts agreed to pay a $750 penalty and the Town of Wareham, Massachusetts agreed to pay a $1,500 penalty for failing to submit and timely submit annual report(s) under the NPDES General MS4 Permit. Mattapoisett will also complete a groundwater monitoring supplemental environmental project (SEP) valued at $2,813 and Wareham will complete a rain barrel purchase and distribution SEP valued at $5,600.
