On November 18, 2011, Region 1 issued a Clean Air Act Administrative Order to Thames Shipyard and Repair Company, Inc. (Thames Shipyard) of New London, Connecticut. Thames Shipyard was found to be in violation of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (Surface Coating) found at 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart II, as well as Title V operating permit requirements. The Order requires the company to comply with the Shipbuilding NESHAP and to apply for a Title V operating permit within 120 days of its receipt of the Order.
