Case summary

On December 13, 2010, the Ansonia Fire Department was informed than an unknown quantity of oil had migrated to the Naugatuck River and that the CT DEP had coordinated containment efforts at the River through an underground stormwater pipe. Fuel oil had spilled from a fuel oil delivery truck downhill along Johnson Street and onto State Street into a catch basin to an underground storm pipe into the Naugatuck River.
