On May 8, 2008 approximately 1,400 gallons of fuel oil was discharged from the tailrace outfall, and made its way to the Connecticut River. All storage tanks have since been removed from the property, and cleanup of the release is continuing. There were no reports of environmental harm as a result of the discharge.
