Polyfoam Corp. (Polyfoam), an expandable polystyrene foam product manufacturer in Northbridge, Massachusetts, will strictly limit air pollution emissions in order to settle a federal Clean Air Act enforcement case brought by EPA and the Department of Justice. Under the judicial consent decree, lodged on July 13, 2011, Polyfoam will install a new volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions control with a regenerative thermal oxidizer that will reduce the emissions from the facility�s manufacturing process by about 85%. Polyfoam will also mitigate its past excess VOC emissions and pay a civil penalty of $127,500.
