Case summary

The complaint alleges violations of the Subase’s RCRA permit and violations that occurred in the non-permitted portion of the facility, including: (1) failure to operate, maintain and repair the permitted facility to minimize the possibility of fire, explosion or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents; (2) failure to perform hazardous waste determinations; (3) failure to properly label containers of hazardous waste; (4) failure to date containers of hazardous waste; (5) failure to maintain adequate aisle space; (6) failure to keep containers of hazardous waste closed; (7) failure to maintain emergency equipment and post “No Smoking” sign; and (8) failure to conduct weekly inspections.
