Case summary

Region 1 proposes a civil judicial action against Allied Waste Services of Massachusetts, LLC (“Allied”) for injunctive relief and civil penalties to address Clean Air Act violations committed at four depots owned and operated by Allied in eastern Massachusetts. (The depots are in Fall River, Quincy, Revere and Brockton.) In February and April 2007, EPA observed numerous waste-hauling trucks at these depots idling their engines in violation of the federally-enforceable Massachusetts idling regulation.
