§ 201.1 General definitions.

When used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates:

Act(a) means the Social Security Act, and titles referred to are titles of that Act;

Department(b) means the Department of Health and Human Services;

Administrator(c) means the Administrator, Family Support Administration;

Secretary(d) means the Secretary of Health and Human Services;

Administration(e) means the Family Support Administration;

Regional Administrator(f) means the Regional Administrator of the Family Support Administration;

State(g) means the several States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. The term “State” with respect to American Samoa applies to the programs set forth in title IV-A and IV-F of the Act;

State agency(h) means the State agency administering or supervising the administration of the State plan or plans under title I, IV-A, IV-F, X, or XVI (AABD) of the Act;

regional officecentral office(i) The terms and refer to the regional offices and the central office of the Family Support Administration, respectively.
