<p>Promissoky Notes. Alteration of instruments. Burden of proof.</p> <p>In a suit upon a promissory note, which appears upon its face to have been materially altered, the burden is on the plaintiff to show that the alteration was innocently made, and proof of defendant’s signature alone does not make out his case.</p>
