Syllabus

The plaintiff, Willie Gray, appealed from an order of the Superior Court denying his motion for relief from an order granting a motion for the entry of judgment in favor of defendant, the City of Providence. The hearing justice denied the motion for relief after considering all the facts and circumstances of the case. He concluded that Mr. Gray provided no reasonable justification for his decision to file the motion for relief almost one year after the court granted defendant's motion for entry of judgment and denied plaintiff's subsequent motion to vacate. The Supreme Court determined that the hearing justice did not abuse his discretion in denying Mr. Gray's motion. Accordingly, the Court affirmed the order of the Superior Court.
