Syllabus

<p>1. Wrongful Death — Right of Action for Damages — Maritime Law.</p> <p>There is no right of action for wrongful death under the general maritime law.</p> <p>2. Same — Statutory Action — Limitation.</p> <p>The provision of Code Civ. Proc. N. Y. § 1902, which gives a right of action for wrongful death, that “such action must be commenced within two years after the decedent’s death,” is a condition of the right of action itself, and no action based on the statute can be maintained after the time limited, nor is the time extended to cover the appointment of an administrator.</p> <p>í i.
