Syllabus

JURISDICTION – DAMAGES: R.C. 1901.17 limits a municipal court's jurisdiction to those civil matters involving amounts in controversy of $15,000 or less. The municipal court did not have subject-matter jurisdiction over, and properly dismissed, tenant's action against landlords seeking damages in an amount that exceeded the monetary limit established by R.C. 1901.17. Judgment affirmed.
