Syllabus
Affirmed. The trial court did not err when it granted appellee's motion for judgment on the pleadings. Appellant did not state a claim for breach of contract against appellee, a non-party to any contract with appellant, as a purported third-party beneficiary. The trial court properly granted judgment on the pleadings to appellee on the unjust enrichment claim because appellant did not confer a benefit upon appellee. Under controlling precedent of the Supreme Court of Ohio, the assignment of appellant's customer's claim against appellee to appellant was invalid. Finally, because appellant failed to join the customer as a necessary party, as required by R.C. 2721.12(A), the trial court was without jurisdiction to hear appellant's declaratory judgment claim.
