<p>LIQUOR LICENSE—CIVIL LIABILITY—CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.</p> <p>1. Civil liability for the payment of a license for “conducting the business of a retail dealer of spirituous liquors” is something other and different from a criminal liability for unlawfully selling liquors without a license. A person cannot shelter himself from a criminal prosecution by showing that in so selling he was acting as the agent of another, but he does not personally owe a license for “conducting the business of a retail dealer in spirituous liquors” when he is simply the solicitor for or in the employ of a retail dealer.</p> <p>(Syllabus by the Court.)</p>
