<p>MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS—USB OP STREET-GRANT TO ELECTRIC COMPANY—VALIDITY.</p> <p>1. City Ordinance No. 1,694, granting to the Consumers’ Electric Company the privilege of using the streets and public places for laying of conduits, etc., falls within the scope of section 86 of the city charter as amended, and said ordinance, having been passed in accordance with the requirements of said section, is valid.</p> <p>2. The furnishing of electric light and energy to private consumers is not a public duty or function, or a utility to become public on terms, within the meaning of section 87 of the city charter as amended.</p> <p>(Syllabus by the Court.)</p>
