Syllabus
The defendant, Mark Chez, appealed from his conviction by a jury in the Providence County Superior Court of one count of carrying a pistol without a license in violation of G.L. 1956 § 11-47-8(a). The defendant contended before this Court that the trial justice erred in denying his motion for a judgment of acquittal and his motion for a new trial. <br><br>The Supreme Court concluded that the trial justice did not err when she denied the defendant's motion for a new trial. In view of that conclusion, it was not necessary for the Court to reach the defendant's Rule 29 motion for a judgment of acquittal. Accordingly, the Court affirmed the judgment of the Superior Court.<br>
