Syllabus

Appellant's statutory speedy-trial rights were not violated as the 45-day time period in which the state had to bring appellant to trial was extended by appellant's delay in obtaining representation, defense counsel's request for a continuance, and a seven-day reasonable continuance granted at the state's request to ensure the availability of a state's witness. Further, appellant's conviction for domestic violence was supported by sufficient evidence and was not against the manifest weight of the evidence, and the trial court did not err in admitting \other acts\ evidence in accordance with Evid.R. 404(B) as the victim's testimony about past incidents in which appellant physically abused her was relevant, offered for a legitimate purpose, and its probative value was not outweighed by the danger of unfair prejudice.
