Wesley Allen Lacey, Defendant, was charged in a presentment by the Knox County GrandJury with one count of second degree murder and one count of delivery of fentanyl in anamount less than fifteen grams. A jury found Defendant guilty of second degree murderand casual exchange. As a result, he was sentenced to fifteen years to be served at 100%for the second degree murder conviction and eleven months and twenty-nine days for thecasual exchange conviction, to be served concurrently, for a total effective sentence offifteen years in incarceration. After the denial of a motion for new trial, Defendantappealed challenging the sufficiency of the evidence to support the conviction for seconddegree murder and the admission of testimony from a medical examiner who did notperform the autopsy of the victim. Following a thorough review, we affirm the judgmentsof the trial court.
