State of Tennessee v. Joseph McDowell

Syllabus

The defendant, Joseph McDowell, was convicted by a Hamilton County jury of two countsof sexual battery by an authority figure. The trial court imposed a sentence of six years'incarceration in the first count and six years' probation in the second count, to be servedconsecutively. On appeal, the defendant argues that the trial court erred in 1) denying hismotion to exclude his statements concerning his sexuality and 2) ordering his sentences beserved consecutively. Following a thorough review of the record, the briefs, and oralarguments of the parties, we affirm the judgments of the trial court.
