State ex rel. Coventry Police Department v. Zachary Charlwood

Syllabus

The defendant, Zachary Charlwood, petitioned for a writ of certiorari for the Supreme Court to review an order of the District Court denying his motion to seal his record for driving without a license, first offense. The Supreme Court granted certiorari. The defendant argued that his record should be sealed under G.L. 1956 § 12-1-12(b) because he was \detained by the police but not arrested or charged with an offense.\ The Supreme Court held that the defendant was entitled to have his records sealed pursuant to that statute and thus quashed the order of the District Court.
