Smith v. Conti

Syllabus
Summary judgment was properly granted in favor of the defendants because the plaintiff's suit for personal injuries he suffered when one of the defendants shot him was governed by R.C. 2305.111(B)'s one-year limitations period for battery claims, and the suit was filed outside that one-year period. Also, no genuine disputes concerning material facts existed to support the plaintiff's view that the other defendants - two of whom owned the real property where the shooting occurred - breached a duty of care owed to him or did or said anything that caused his injuries.
