Syllabus
<p>The statute of Oregon of October 26, 1882, taxing mortgages of lands in that State to the mortgagees in the county where the land lies, does not, as applied to mortgages owned by citizens of other States and in their possession outside of the State of Oregon, contravene the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.</p>
