Syllabus
Domestic violence; family member; sufficiency; ineffective assistance of counsel; self-defense. Trial counsel was not ineffective for failing to file notice of intent to assert a claim of self-defense where uncontroverted evidence showed that the defendant caused the situation that gave rise to the affray. Defendant's conviction was sustained by sufficient evidence where the victim testified that the defendant entered her home without her permission, placed his hands on her neck, and pushed her into the wall causing visible injuries to the victim's neck.
