Syllabus

<p>Mortgage — Purchase money mortgage — Dower interest.</p> <p>Where the widow and children of a decedent execute a deed of land formerly belonging to the decedent, and take as part payment a purchase money mortgage, under which interest on a sum stated is to be paid to the widow “in lieu of her dower” and to secure her interest, and the mortgage is foreclosed in the lifetime of the widow, the widow is entitled to' have from the proceeds of the sale the sum mentioned in the mortgage as being in lieu of her dower, set aside to her for life.</p>
