Punitive damages not allowed where the act is neither authorized or ratified.</p> <p>Neither under the rule of the federal court nor the rule in the state of Louisiana is the master liable in punitive damages because of a wrong committed by a servant, unless the master either authorized or ratified its commission.</p>
