A workman suffering an injury to his arm, which necessitated amputation below the elbow and which resulted in a permanent loss of the use of his arm is entitled to compensation for the loss of the arm rather than the loss of the hand, under Section 306 of the Workmen’s Compensation Act of June 2, 1915, P. L. 736,

' designating the amount of compensation for the loss of a hand and for the loss of an arm, since the language of the statute was intended to include all cases where there is a permanent loss of the use of the entire member mentioned in the act, without regard to the point of amputation, as well as cases where such loss is sustained from injuries not requiring amputation.

2. The Workmen’s Compensation Act is a remedial statute, and is to receive a liberal construction.
