Syllabus

<p>In an action against the maker of a negotiable note, made for the accommodation of the payee and discounted by the plaintiff, the defence was that the defendant was not to be held liable thereon. In such case, the testimony of the defendant, denied by the plaintiff and unsupported by circumstances equivalent to another witness, was insufficient to reform the instrument.</p>
