LETTMAN, 22 I&N Dec. 365 (BIA 1998) ID 3370 (PDF) An alien convicted of an aggravated felony is subject to deportation regardless of the date of the conviction when the alien is placed in deportation proceedings on or after March 1, 1991, and the crime falls within the aggravated felony definition.
