Syllabus

Despite an earlier, short-lived agreement between the parents to change a child's surname from his mother's to his father's, the probate court did not abuse its discretion in granting a (contested) name change application only to the extent of adding the father's surname to the child's as part of a hyphenated last name. The probabt court properly looked to the best interest of the child. Judgment affirmed.
